Verizon Web Based Directory Services (WBDS) replaces standard, telephone-connected directory assistance by providing agencies with a convenient, self-service way to find national listings. This browser-based application features a simple and highly intuitive interface, which makes it easy for you to find the numbers you need. Like traditional directory assistance, Verizon Web Based Directory Services performs comprehensive searches to retrieve business and residential phone numbers and addresses, but for considerably less than the cost of traditional directory assistance services. WBDS is available with Verizon Frame Relay, ATM, or Internet Protocol (IP) services.

No area code necessary.Long distance look-ups do not require knowledgeof area code, thus reducing time spent researching information prior tomaking an inquiry.
Reverse number searches.Reverse number searches are a standard function of WBDS that allow a user to retrieve a name and address by inputting only the phone number. Agencies with call centers find this particularly useful because it allows customer service representatives to identify callers by the ANI (Automatic Number Identification) on the phone display.
Reverse street searches.WBDS allows a user to input information regarding a street, city, and state and to find phone numbers for residences and businesses. This function is helpful to users trying to locate individuals/organizations with a missing or incorrect telephone number on file.
Freedom to roam.When the user does not have sufficient information to retrieve a correct number, WBDS allows the user to try multiple searches with different criteria without being disconnected and without being billed.
