Contract Overview

Through the FTS2001 Bridge Contract with the General Services Administration (GSA), Verizon Business offers a wide range of flexible telecommunications products, services, and feature functionality to the federal government. The FTS2001 Bridge Contract offers domestic and international services, including: Internet, Frame Relay, ATM, Private Line, Managed Network Services, VoIP, Security, Data Protection/Disaster Recovery, IP VPN, Conferencing (audio, video, net), and Voice Portal services. Backed by Verizon's local-to-global-to-local network, the Verizon Business FTS2001 Bridge Contract provides a comprehensive suite of services that will evolve with agency requirements and technological innovations in the communications industry.

Verizon Business was awarded the FTS2001 Bridge Contract in July 2006 (effective January 2007), to continue services provided under the FTS2001 Contract. It also allows for new services to be added via modifications to the Contract.

FTS2001 Bridge Contract features include:

  • Continued competition between the current FTS2001 contractors, which allows agencies to act as "smart shoppers" in a commercial-like marketplace
  • A Price Management Mechanism to provide competitive pricing and avoid disparity if a contractor’s commercial prices for a category of services drop below the Contract prices for those same services
  • The ability to add new products and technologies as they evolve, which puts government customers on par with commercial customers for access to these new services
