Choose from two SSL trust levels
Verizon Business offers two trust levels of SSL
certificates: standard SSL Certificates and Extended Validation SSL Certificates. Before you can receive either type of certificate, professional Verizon Business technicians conduct an identity verification process. The EV verification investigation is the more comprehensive and will give your customers and partners even greater confidence in dealing with you.

SSL Server Certificates
A server certificate is a unique electronic credential that authenticates the
identity of your website to visitors and provides you with authentication, integrity
and confidentiality. In order to purchase certificates, you have to go through an
identity verification process. A server certificate also allows for a confidential
encrypted session between the visitor's browser and your servers using the
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, a global standard for secure E-commerce.

The next generation of SSL
A Verizon Business Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate is a
unique electronic credential which leverages the advanced security features of the
latest web browsers (such as Microsoft’s IE 7) and provides one of the highest
levels of authenticity available in an SSL certificate.
The Verizon Business EV SSL certificate issuance process uses a
more comprehensive identity verification technique in order to provide certificates
that authenticate the identity of your website to visitors and provide for
confidentiality of communications and transactions.
The presence of a Verizon Business EV SSL certificate will cause
your visitor’s EV aware browser to display vivid and distinctive EV certificate
information. (For Microsoft’s IE7 on XP and on Vista, this signal will be a green
address bar) as well as trigger security features found in older browsers such as
the padlock icon.
Automatic Updates for Windows XP users
Verizon Business also provides an EV upgrader which will
automatically update IE7 browsers running on Windows XP to give them EV display
capabilities.
Getting started
If your organization requires more than one certificate in the coming year then you
should consider the Verizon Business EV Starter Kit. This single
starter kit certificate will give you the ability to order additional EV SSL
certificates for your domain, without having to repeat the complete EV validation
process.
Highlights of Verizon Business's SureServer certificates
- Verizon Business Secured Extended Validation seal for your website
- EV Upgrader - provides backward compatibility for users of Windows XP
- 24 hour email support and online helpdesk
Pricing and Payment Methods
Server certificates can be purchased online with AMEX, MasterCard or VISA.
Volume and prepaid payment options are also available.
The certificates available from this page are Extended Validation SSL Certificates.
If you want to purchase standard trusted SSL certificates, click here.
Is there a chance that you will buy at least one more EV SSL Certificate one year
from now? If so, buy the Starter Kit and avoid going through another validation
process for any EV SSL SureServer certificate that you buy for your same domain
within a year of receiving your first EV SSL certificate. If you plan to purchase
only a single EV SSL certificate in the next 12 months, the EV SSL SureServer
certificate will fully meet your needs without the Starter Kit.
