One number, one voicemail, any device
When employees are unavailable, time is wasted, productivity is drained, and the result can be lost sales and lower customer satisfaction and retention. PBX Mobile Extension gives your mobile employees a single number across multiple devices such as a cell phone, BlackBerry™, home phone, or Wi-Fi device. So, your customers are more likely to reach your employees on the first try.
PBX functionality away from the office
PBX Mobile Extension is compatible with any mobile or remote phone and any TDM or IP PBX. Mobile professionals receive extended voice features – like single number reach, a consolidated voicemail box, conference calling, notification, extension dialing, call park/transfer, and more – allowing them to have seamless connectivity with callers when they are away from the office.

Make the most of your investments while preparing for convergence
Because PBX Mobile Extension is compatible with existing enterprise-class networks, your firm can continue to leverage legacy PBX and voicemail systems while paving the way to smooth migration.
- Integrate with new mobility options-seamlessly
- Avoid investing in potentially limiting proprietary infrastructure
Give control back to IT with robust communications policies
Comprehensive communication policies help you better manage mobile devices, telecom infrastructure, and track effectiveness.
- Manage on a per-user basis
- Manage profile attributes
- Manage security functions-including access privileges-more easily.
- Prioritize communications with classes of service-so important calls get through quickly
- Designate call-routing protocols-forcing calls onto the most cost-effective routes
- Let end users manage their own devices through user-friendly Web and phone interfaces and converged applications
- Users handle "adds, moves, and changes"
- Users manage conferencing, notification, polling, and more
True convergence and a smooth migration to IP
Integrating IP-based phones with existing (TDM) PBXs can cause problems and potential "rip and replace" scenarios. The same integrations built into PBX Mobile Extension that enable wireless mobility across a heterogeneous PBX environment also enable the integration of IP-PBXs into the existing environment. It functions as "telephony middleware" by abstracting the interface to the TDM environment.

Four applications - one comprehensive solution
Composed of four applications (Mobility, Conferencing, Notification and Continuity), PBX Mobile Extension delivers to enterprises a powerful communications solution perfectly suited for today's mobile workforce.
The Mobility Application
By extending the identity and functionality of a traditional PBX desk phone to any device-such as a cell phone, BlackBerry™, home phone, or Wi-Fi device-our Mobility application goes well beyond traditional "find-me/follow-me" applications and allows users to simulate an "in-office" environment.
- One phone number. One voicemail.
- Simultaneously or sequentially rings up to four devices.
- Desk phone features extended to mobile.
- Enterprise caller ID extended on outbound and inbound calls.
Automatic callback
Can be invoked from any device-national or international-to trigger a callback using enterprise-class facilities and negotiated rates, giving users direct access to corporate dial tone with the quality of service they've come to expect.
- Users can make calls at their corporate plan rates
- Once dial tone is established, users have full access to all voice services and applications:
- Abbreviated and long-distance dialing
- Voicemail access
- Conferencing-all available just by answering the phone
On-the-Fly Fixed Mobile Call Switching
Users can seamlessly move a call in progress between different devices and networks without needing to disconnect and re-establish the call.
- Move PBX desk phone calls to cell phones
- Move cell calls to Wi-Fi or SIP phones
Automatic reconnect
Reconnects the call in the event a Wi-Fi or cell signal is lost. Continuous communication saves time and resources by enabling calls to be transitioned to the most cost-effective device/network.

Back to PBX Mobile Extension
Enterprise scalability meets comprehensive third-party integration
PBX Mobile Extension uses telecommunications and data interface standards across three software layers: Application, Services, and Call flow.
Sample call flow
In this common customer configuration, the PBX Mobile Extension software resides on a customer provided server and is connected to the customer’s PBX/IP-PBX via PRI/QSIG, MGCP, or SIP Trunking.
User-friendly management interface
Intuitive GUI and TUI (touchtone user) interfaces give end users and administrators extensive control on a permissions-based model with classes of service. Administrators have the ability to manage all user profiles, restrict user access, configure class of service, run standards or filtered reports. End users can turn phones on and off, add remote devices, and add or change phone schedules.
IT/Telecom requirements
The following requirements are necessary to ensure a successful installation. These apply to both the primary and continuity customer sites. The infrastructure will be verified by a Verizon sales engineer prior to the proposal. Note that a multiple site configuration may include additional requirements.
Customer provided CPE must meet the following minimum requirements for supporting the PBX Mobile Extension solution. The customer may also be required to provide a “media gateway” to support the service if they do NOT have Cisco Call manager as noted below.
