Private IP Layer 3

Consolidate and secure your business application with Private IP

Our Private IP Layer 3 MPLS-based VPN puts all your traffic on a reliable, private network with Quality of Service (QoS) routing. And with Private IP Layer 3, you can build a hybrid solution between your public and private networks while enabling automated business processes, including e-commerce, VoIP, converged solutions, shared intranets, and extranets.

Advanced Technology

Whether you outsource service to us or manage it yourself, our Cisco-powered, private, MPLS network meets your enterprise's rigorous demands, including:

  • Global availability - over 121 countries/territories
  • QoS routing
  • Multicasting for improved bandwidth conservation
  • Seamless Frame Relay/ATM integration
  • Stringent SLAs
  • Remote access (via Secure Gateway)
  • Multiple access options including DSL, satellite, and Ethernet

Any-to-any connectivity

Streamlines network management, planning, and expansion.

Six IP Classes of Service (CoS)

Our six Classes of Service (CoS) let you prioritize traffic (voice, video, data) while consolidating your traffic on a single network. This offers you additional flexibility that lets you dictate how traffic is handled across the network, giving priority to mission critical traffic that is unmatched by most other major providers.

Application Aware Capabilities

Whether you manage your network or we do, now there's a new set of network tools to help you gain visibility into your IP networks and improve applications performance. Using advanced network assessment, reporting, dynamic bandwidth, and packet marking tools, you can fine-tune your network to help improve performance and control costs.

  • Application Analysis and Application Priority - view performance and manage CoS at the desktop and user levels
  • Dynamic Bandwidth and Automated Monitoring - change your bandwidth on demand, based on your company's needs, and customize reports that let you view bandwidth usage
  • WAN Analysis - have numerous reporting options without additional CPE. Data is extracted directly from your router
  • Network Assessment - inventory current applications by desktop, tune bandwidth and prepare for deployments/migrations

Migrate at your own pace

Verizon Business' scalable MPLS-based Private IP integrates seamlessly with legacy investments like Frame Relay. Provision a single PVC connected to an MPLS VPN network and reap the benefits of Private IP immediately.

Control operating costs

Reduce the load on existing frame routers or simply replace multiple Frame Relay PVCs with a single access line.

Increase efficiency

Integrate VPN and Internet protocols. Reliable IP network routing helps reduce your administrative burden. Converge voice, data, and video on a single network.

Redirect traffic to unaffected sites in the event
of an emergency

No disaster contingency plan is complete without some provision for rerouting vital traffic. With Verizon's Disaster Recovery Port, you can redirect traffic from your compromised site or sites to a location you have designated as a back-up location. Your port appears as simply another node on your network so it's easy to redirect traffic on the fly.

  • Less expensive than the normal port
  • Traffic can be forwarded either to a new, safe location or to an on-site standby Disaster Recovery Port
  • Designate a location on your network or on a third-party disaster recovery vendor site

These options are available with Private IP Layer 3:

Geographic Diversity

Geographic Diversity, also referred to as POP or Gateway Diversity, provides circuits at the Point of Presence (POP) or gateway level.

Router Diversity

Router Diversity provides diverse circuits at the Private IP Provider Edge (PE) level. With Router Diversity, the two sites will be provisioned to two different PE devices on the Private IP network.
