Building Better Optical Networking from the Ground Up
Your enterprise demands a highly reliable, resilient, and flexible data transport network that can handle bandwidth demands and help control capital costs. Integrated Optical Service is the ideal solution. Robust and highly survivable, it is secure enough to transport your mission-critical voice, data, Ethernet, storage, and video applications, and powerful enough to handle various high-bandwidth applications that require LAN/WAN and SAN connectivity.
Converged Technologies on Resilient Architecture
Based on the latest in optical networking technology, Integrated Optical Service converges wavelength, SONET, and packet technologies into a single delivery architecture. A highly scalable service platform, it provides up to 440 Gbps in total bandwidth and can carry traditional voice, data, and video applications, and supports interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SONET, SDI, and HD-SDI.
The Ethernet Packet Ring Service (EPRS) Option
EPRS combines the multipoint capabilities of Ethernet switching with the resiliency inherent in Integrated Optical Service. Structurally sound, with the redundancy to help avoid service loss, our ring architecture is designed to have no single point of failure—the better to protect your mission critical applications. For additional peace of mind, we provide around-the-clock monitoring and support, and competitive SLAs.
Reliable Support for Multiple Applications
Built on a self-healing architecture providing exceptional network reliability, Integrated Optical Service can be used to construct network backbones to handle high-speed, high-volume voice, video, data, Ethernet, and SAN applications. Supported technologies include TDM, ATM, frame relay, SONET, Ethernet, fiber channel, and digital video.

Beyond the Optimal Network Experience
Our Integrated Optical Service goes the extra mile, delivering a host of collateral benefits.
Survivability and Reliability
Installed over a resilient, fiber ring architecture enabling highly reliable service, our protected services are backed by a 99.999% availability and 2.5 Hour MTTR SLAs.*
Flexibility
Our multi-service platform facilitates network convergence by providing the ability to bundle a variety of interfaces on a single fiber backbone.
Scalability
Integrated Optical Service can meet your current and future bandwidth requirements with no "forklift" upgrades required.
Security
Both the facilities and Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) nodes in the Integrated Optical Service design are fully dedicated. The service is proactively monitored around-the-clock. And Verizon Business also offers a standard Customer Network Management (CNM) feature, providing detailed, real-time network performance views.
Cost-Effectiveness
Control costs by consolidating your voice, video, data, and storage networks. Verizon Business offers flexible bandwidth and pricing options with term discount plans.

Verizon Dedicated SONET Ring (DSR)
Verizon Business Dedicated SONET Ring service lets you build a
communications infrastructure that is functional, flexible, and reliable from the
ground up. A robust and highly survivable optical networking solution, DSR is secure
enough to transport your mission-critical voice, data, and video applications, and
powerful enough to handle enhanced Ethernet solutions for high-bandwidth LAN/WAN
and SAN connectivity.
A resilient, dedicated ring architecture
Verizon Business DSR is structurally sound with redundancy to help
you avoid loss of services. The dual-fiber, dedicated ring architecture is
designed to have no single point of failure to protect all of your applications.
For additional peace of mind, we provide 24x7 monitoring and support, and our
network is backed by competitive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that offer service
credits for affected network elements.
Flexibility
DSR facilitates network convergence by providing the ability to bundle a variety of
interfaces on one fiber backbone (IP and TDM). Our DSR service can carry
traditional voice, data, and video applications, plus enhanced next-generation
SONET interfaces such as Ethernet, Direct DS-1 access, and Trans-Multiplexing.
Ethernet transport makes LAN-to-MAN-to-WAN connectivity seamless, and native
Ethernet circuits terminate directly on the Ethernet port, requiring no TM
conversion.
Scalable and cost-effective
Verizon Business Dedicated Sonet Ring can meet your current and
future bandwidth requirements with no forklift upgrades required. We also offer
flexible bandwidth and pricing options with term discount plans.
- DSR is available at OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, and OC-192 bandwidths.
- Available TDM interfaces include DS-1/DS-3, OC-3/3c, OC-12/12c, and OC-48/48c.
- DSR for GigE interfaces available include GigE1 (50 Mbps), GigE3 (150 Mbps), GigE6
(300 Mbps), GigE9 (450 Mbps), GigE12 (600 Mbps), and GigE24 (1000 Mbps),

Verizon Dedicated Wavelength Ring Service (DWR)
Dedicated Wavelength Ring Service is a resilient optical transport service that
delivers more robust transport networks and increased operational efficiency.
By transporting high-speed data protocols over a single fiber pair, DWR meets your
demand for a scalable, converged network.
Single point-of-contact with a fully managed solution
A Verizon Business team will work with you to design
a network solution based on your needs, manage the entire installation process for
you, and provide 24x7 network support through our nationwide Network Operation
Centers.
Supports a full-range of applications
Whether you need to mirror mainframe data, connect LANs and MANs, build a video
network, or extend your Storage Area Network, we’re ready to support a broad array
of data transport applications. And, you can access a variety of optical
interfaces, protocols, and bandwidths – all from one network solution.
Efficient, high-bandwidth transport
We use Layer 1 transport technologies -- DWDM and Ultra-Long haul (ULH) DWDM --
that allow protocol-independent transport over a single fiber pair, and eliminate
the need for layered networks. The ring architecture operates as a single network,
letting you easily add and drop channels at each of your locations. DWR also
supports a broad range of protocols, with bandwidths ranging from 8 Mbps to 10
Gbps. And, you can provision each channel with different types of protection,
depending on your network requirements.
